یکی از رایجترین اشتباهات زبانآموزان انگلیسی، استفاده نادرست از حروف اضافه (Prepositions) است. بسیاری از زبانآموزان، حتی در سطوح متوسط و پیشرفته، حروف اضافه را بهصورت تحتاللفظی از فارسی ترجمه میکنند؛ موضوعی که باعث ایجاد خطاهای گرامری در مکالمه و نوشتار میشود.
در این مطلب، مجموعهای از اشتباهات رایج حروف اضافه در زبان انگلیسی را بررسی کردهایم. برای هر مورد، مثال اشتباه (Don’t say) و مثال صحیح (Say) به همراه ترجمه فارسی ارائه شده تا یادگیری سادهتر و ماندگارتر شود.

حروف اضافه (Prepositions) در زبان انگلیسی چیست؟
نقش حروف اضافه در جمله
حروف اضافه رابطهی بین فعل، صفت یا اسم را با سایر اجزای جمله مشخص میکنند و استفاده نادرست از آنها باعث غیرطبیعی شدن جمله میشود.
چرا این اشتباهات رایج هستند؟
زیرا در زبان انگلیسی، هر فعل یا صفت معمولاً با حرف اضافه مشخصی میآید که الزاماً معادل فارسی ندارد.
نکته مهم:
در زبان انگلیسی، حروف اضافه قانون ثابت و قابل ترجمه مستقیم ندارند و معمولاً باید همراه با فعل یا صفت حفظ شوند. به همین دلیل، یادگیری آنها از طریق مثال بهترین روش است.
اشتباهات رایج حروف اضافه در زبان انگلیسی
absored
Don’t say: The man was absorbed at his work.
Say: The man was absorbed in his work
او غرقِ کارش بود.
accused
Don’t say: She accused the man for stealing.
Say: She accused the man of stealing.
او آن مرد را به دزدی متهم کرد.
accustomed
Don’t say: I’m accustomed with hot weather.
Say: I’m accustomed to hot weather.
من به هوای گرم عادت دارم.
afraid
Don’t say: Laura is afraid from the dog.
Say: Laura is afraid of the dog.
لاورا از سگ میترسد.
aim
Don’t say: She aimed on the target or She aimed against the target.
Say: She aimed at the target.
او به هدف نشانه رفت.
angry
Don’t say: The teacher was angry against him.
Say: The teacher was angry with him.
معلم از دست او عصبانی بود.
arrive
Don’t say: we arrived to the village at night.
Say: We arrived at the village at night.
ما شب به روستا رسیدیم.
ashamed
Don’t say: He’s now ashamed from his conduct.
Say: He’s now ashamed of his conduct.
او الان از کاری که کرده شرمنده است.
believe
Don:say: We believe to God.
Say: We believe in God.
ما به خدا ایمان داریم.
boast
Don’t say: James boasted for his strength.
Say: James boasted of (or about) his strength.
او به قدرتش لاف میزد.
careful
Don’t say: Elka’s very careful for her health.
Say: Elka’s very careful of / about her health.
الیکا مراقب سلامتیش است.
or: You should be careful with your money.
تو باید مراقبت پولهایت باشی.
travel
Don’t say: He traveled with the train yesterday.
Say: He traveled by train yesterday.
او با قطار سفر کرد.
complain
Don’t say: Annette complained for the weather.
Say: Annette complained about the weather.
آنت از هوا شکایت داشت.
composed
Don’t say: Our class is composed from thirty students
Say: Our class is composed of thirty students.
کلاس ما از 30 دانشآموز تشکیل شده است.
confidence
Don’t say: I have great confidence to you
Say: I have great confidence in you.
من به تو اعتماد کامل دارم.
conform
Don’t say: We must conform with the rules.
Say: We must conform to the rules.
ما باید از قانون پیروی کنیم.
congratulate
Don’t say: I congratulate you for your success.
Say: I congratulate you on your success.
بخاطر موفقیتهایت بهت تبریک میگم.
consist
Don’t say: A year consists from twelve months.
Say: A year consists of twelve months.
یک سال از 12 ماه تشکیل شده است.
covered
Don’t say: The mountain are covered by snow.
Say: The mountain are covered with snow.
کوهها از برف پوشیده شده است.
cure of
Don’t say: The man was cured from his illness.
Say: The man was cured of his illness.
او مریضیش درمان شد.
depend
Don’t say: It depends from her
Say: It depends on ( or upon) her
بستگی به او داره.
deprive
Don’t say: Nelson Mandela was deprived from his freedom.
Say: Nelson Mandela was deprived of his freedom.
نلسون ماندلا از آزادی محروم شد.
die
Don’t say: Many people have died from Malaria.
Say: Many people have died of malaria.
انسانهای زیادی بخاطر مالاریا مردهاند.
different
Don’t say: My book is different than yours.
Say: My book is different from you.
کتاب من با کتابِ تو فرق میکند.
divide
Don’t say: I divided the cake in four parts.
Say: I divided the cake into four parts.
من کتاب را به چهار قسمت تقسیم کردم.
no doubt
Don’t say: I’ve no doubt for his ability.
Say: I’ve no doubt of (or about) his ability.
من هیچ شکی به تواناییش ندارم.
dressed
Don’t say: The woman was dressed with black.
Say: The woman was dressed in black.
آن خانم لباس سیاه پوشیده بود.
exception
Don’t say: This is an exception of the rule.
Say: This is an exception to the rule.
این یک استثنا در این قانون است.
fail
Don’t say: Steven failed from math last year.
Say: Steven failed in maths last year.
استیون سال گذشته ریاضی قبول نشد.
full
Don’t say: The jar was full with (or from) oil.
Say: The jar was full of oil.
پارچ پر از روغن بود.
get rid of
Don’t say: I’ll be glad to get rid from him.

خوشحال خواهم شد از شر او خلاص شوم.
glad about
Don’t say: Francis was glad from (or with) receiving your letter.

فرانسیس از دریافت نامهات خوشحال شد.
good at
Don’t say: My sister’s good in math.

خواهرم در ریاضی خوب است.
weak in
Don’t say: He’s weak at grammar.

او در گرامر ضعیف است.
guard against
Don’t say: You must guard from bad habits.
Say: You must guard against bad habits.
باید از عادتهای بد دوری کنی.
guilty of
Don’t say: He was found guilty for murder.
Say: He was found guilty of murder.
او به جرم قتل متهم شناخته شد.
independent of
Don’t say: Clare’s independent from her parents.
Say: Clare’s independent of her parents.
کلر از والدینش مستقل است.
indifferent to
Don’t say: They’re indifference for politics.
Say: They’re indifferent to politics.
آنها نسبت به سیاست بیتفاوت هستند.
